Living Harmoniously with Your Pets

containment during storms, etc...
Some of my cats are no longer allowed in the house. When they were bored with the backyard or needed to come in occasionally for some reason, like pest control, storms, etc… I needed a way to contain them. My friends, John and Elease, helped me design and build my cat cage. I couldn’t figure out how to do the corners. None of the building supply stores had what I needed for 90 degree angles. John suggested 45 degree angles and here it is! And the 45 degree angles made it more sturdy. It took two days to build, but has been well worth it. John helped measure and cut the pieces and put together the frame; I wrapped it.
Tiger and Shadow have spent a lot of time in it. Tiger especially. They have plenty of room and all they need to pass the time; Food, litter, a place to sleep, some catnip on a scratch pad, toys. This has freed me up tremendously from cleaning up after them and trying to keep tabs on them.
This cage is large enough and protected enough to keep the animals safe and healthy during the times they need to be caged.
You should not take on the responsibility of a pet and then dump them on someone else. It happens all the time. It is wrong, but it happens. Every single cat I have was previously owned by an irresponsible pet owner. Most of them were abandoned. So I will be the responsible one and take care of them. Monthly treatments, vet bills, food, you do the math.
It truly is every one’s responsibility, but for those who are not enlightened enough to realize that yet, well, it is dumped on those of us who are. Many animal control facilities have not kept up with the times. Catch and Kill is a mentality that will be the downfall of this society. Violence breeds violence.
Taking care of animals adds value to our life in ways that the majority of people do not understand. My advice to those who do understand, do the best you can and thank you for doing it. The Universe will reward you for your loving, giving and non-destructive ways!
